Medical acupuncture is an effective modality that stimulates targeted body systems using the principles of anatomy, physiology, and pathology. Specific points are used and stimulated to decrease pain, facilitate nerves or muscles, release fascia, and improve flow of fluid in the body. Often, the acupuncture points used in Traditional Chinese Medicine are also used in medical acupuncture.
